The police in Lagos on Friday arraigned a 29-year-old man, Kelechi Ahamekwu, before a Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos, over alleged threat to life.
Ahamekwu, whose address was not provided, is facing a two-count charge of breach of peace and threat to life.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Prosecutor, ASP Edet Ekpo, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on March 5 at Ibereko area of Badagry.
Ekpo said that the defendant threatened to kill the complainant, Mr Sunday Chukwuka and his daughter, over an undisclosed matter.
He said that the defendant also conducted himself in a manner likely to cause breach of the peace, when he attacked the complainant.
“The defendant also sent a voice note to the complainant alleging that his kids were not his biological children,”the prosecutor said.
Ekpo said that the offences contravened Sections 56 and 168 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr A.J Aina, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100, 000 with two sureties in the like sum and adjourned the case until April 24 for mention.
