The Federal Government has suspended two senior officers of the Maximum and Minimum Custodial Centres, Kirikiri, Lagos, following allegations that cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, who was sentenced to six months imprisonment, received special accommodation outside the custodial center.

This action was confirmed in a statement issued Thursday by Ja’afaru Ahmed, Secretary of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), in Abuja.

The suspension aims to facilitate further investigation into the allegations, as directed by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.

The officers affected are Michael Anugwa, Deputy Controller of Corrections (DCC), in charge of the Medium Security Custodial Centre, and Sikiru Adekunle, DCC in charge of the Maximum Security Custodial Centre, both at Kirikiri, Lagos. Ahmed assured that the investigation’s findings would be made public upon conclusion.
