A private jet carrying nine people has crashed into a residential area in Palm Beach County, Florida, United States, killing everyone on board.

The aircraft, a Learjet 60, went down on Sunday, November 1, 2026, at about 12:50 p.m. local time, after departing Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Texas for North Eleuthera Airport in the Bahamas.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the plane crashed near Cresthaven in Palm Beach County.

Videos circulating on social media captured the moment the jet plunged from the sky and exploded into a massive fireball upon impact, sending thick smoke into the air.

US Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy confirmed that all nine occupants died in the crash, describing the incident as a horrific tragedy.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis said there were no immediate reports of casualties or injuries among people on the ground.

The crash reportedly occurred near a residential community, prompting emergency responders to secure the area and evacuate approximately 600 residents from a nearby mobile home park.

Preliminary reports indicated that the pilot had reported icing conditions, moderate turbulence and precipitation shortly before the aircraft began its rapid descent.

Air traffic control recordings reportedly captured the pilot declaring an emergency and warning that the plane was descending at an alarming rate before the final moments of the flight.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has launched an investigation into the crash, with the FAA assisting in determining the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The exact cause of the crash remains unknown as investigations continue.
