Suspected Fulani Militias Kill 19-Year-Old Woman, Injure 2 in Plateau Attack

Suspected Fulani militias have reportedly killed a 19-year-old woman and injured two others in an attack on Gana Ropp village in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.

According to credible security sources cited by security analyst Zagazola Makama, the incident occurred at about 10:45 p.m. on August 14, 2026, after troops of Sector 4, Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP), responded to a distress call from the community.

Upon arriving at the scene, the troops reportedly found that the attackers had shot dead 19-year-old Asamau Saleh.

Two other residents, identified as 26-year-old Aminu Saleh and 28-year-old Stephen Monday, sustained gunshot injuries in the attack.

The injured victims were evacuated by the troops and taken to Barkin Ladi General Hospital for medical treatment.

Security personnel have launched a manhunt for the attackers as investigations continue to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and identify those responsible.
