Former Super Eagles striker, Victor Ikpeba, has expressed confidence that Nigeria can revive their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification hopes with victories against Rwanda and South Africa.
Nigeria have struggled in the campaign so far, winning just once in six matches. The Super Eagles sit in fourth place in their group with seven points, while South Africa lead the table on 13 points from the same number of games.
The Eagles will host Rwanda’s Amavubi in a matchday seven fixture at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, on Saturday, September 6. Four days later, they will travel to Bloemfontein for a crucial encounter with the Bafana Bafana of South Africa.
Ikpeba, a former Monaco forward, remains optimistic about Nigeria’s chances. “There’s pride, determination and honour to play for your country, I believe the boys are now ready and determined to do the job against Rwanda and South Africa,” he told SuperSport.
The Super Eagles camp for the two matches is expected to open next Monday.
