Broda Shaggi Hospitalised After Alleged Gunshot Injury During Skit Filming

Popular Nigerian comedian and skit maker Samuel Perry, widely known as Broda Shaggi, has reportedly been hospitalised after sustaining a gunshot injury in the Sango-Ota area of Ota, Ogun State, Nigeria.

According to reports, the incident occurred under the Sango-Ota bridge on Sunday afternoon, although the circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear.

A police source, who spoke anonymously, said the entertainer was filming a comedy skit at the location when the gunshot incident happened.

He was reportedly rushed by members of his crew to Blooming Care Hospital where he received initial medical attention.

“He was shooting a skit under the Sango-Ota bridge when he sustained a gunshot injury. We don’t yet have details of how it happened, but his crew members quickly rushed him to the hospital,” the source was quoted as saying.

Further reports indicated that the comedian was later referred to Duchess Hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment.

The spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, Abimbola Adebisi, confirmed that the hospital alerted the police after a gunshot victim was brought to the facility.

According to her, detectives and a patrol team were immediately dispatched to the hospital, where they identified the victim as Broda Shaggi, who sustained an injury to his thigh.

Adebisi noted that although the incident reportedly occurred in Sango-Ota, which falls outside Lagos police jurisdiction, investigations have begun.

Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, Omolola Odutola, said the incident had not been officially reported to the command.

“The incident was alleged to have occurred in Ogun State, but it was not reported,” she said.

Authorities are continuing efforts to establish the circumstances surrounding the alleged shooting.
