The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has resuscitated the Kogi State Chapter of the Institute and inaugurated an interim Executive Committee, with a charge to foster an inclusive leadership capable of deepening participation and boost its membership strength.
NIPR President, Dr. Ike Neliaku who made this call on Saturday at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Lokoja emphasised that every Chapter is of utmost importance to NIPR as they play crucial roles in strengthening the Institute’s relevance in driving national development, Aturu Bishop, the Public Relations Officer of Kogi Chapter said in a statement.
Represented by the Chairman of Chapter Support and Development Committee, Dr. Ahmad Sajoh, the President while stressing the need for purposeful and ethical leadership that will position the Chapter as a model commended NIPR stakeholders in the state for their commitment and resilience that has seen it fully restored.
Also, Registrar of NIPR, Chief Uzoma Onyegbadue while administering oath of office urged members to uphold the ethical standards, ideals and principles of the profession through unity and sustained cooperation.
Similarly, the FCT Chapter Chairman, who doubles as Institute’s Director of Public Relations, Mr. Stanley Ogadigo expressed delight that the neighbouring Kogi will now serve as an active partner in elevating public relations practice in Nigeria.
Chairman of the State Executive Committee, Mr. Ismaila Isah in his remarks described his emergence as a call to service, aimed at strengthening the public relations profession and restoring the vibrancy of the Kogi State Chapter.
Mr. Isah assured that his committee will introduce initiatives that will enhance membership engagement and promote ethical practice, as well as partnering with relevant organisations that will add value in the Chapter’s quest to stand out among equals.
Other members of the newly inuagurated Executive Committee include: Vice Chairman, Oshaloto Tade; Secretary, Micheal Oshiomieh; Assistant Secretary, Aliyu-Ohiare Fati; Welfare Officer, Daniel Nwankwo; Treasurer, Balogun Yemi, Financial Secretary, Khadijat Abubakar Isah, Internal Auditor, Momoh Nuhu; and Ex-officio members – Suleiman Ibrahim, Emmanuel Bello and Austyn Ochu.
The interim EXCO will hold office for a period of six months within which, it is expected to conduct election for all elective offices as stipulated by the Act.
