Justice Oriji has discharged and acquitted former Senator Dino Melaye of all charges brought against him, including threats to injure public officers and an attempt to commit suicide.

In a ruling delivered on October 7, Justice Oriji upheld Melaye’s no-case submission on two counts and ordered him to enter his defense on four others.

However, the prosecution failed to prove the remaining charges beyond reasonable doubt.

“The court finds the defendant not guilty on counts 1, 3, 4, and 6. Senator Dino Melaye is hereby discharged and acquitted,” Justice Oriji declared.
