President Bola Tinubu is set to swear in seven newly appointed ministers on Monday following a recent cabinet reshuffle.

The announcement was made by Bayo Onanuga, the president’s special adviser on information and strategy, through a post on his X account on Sunday.

The swearing-in ceremony will take place at the council chamber of the State House in Abuja. “President Bola Tinubu will swear in the new seven ministers tomorrow Monday,” Onanuga wrote, noting that the Senate confirmed the appointments last week.

The nominations came after President Tinubu reshuffled his cabinet on October 25, which involved the dismissal of five ministers, the reassignment of 10 others to different portfolios, and the nomination of seven new candidates for Senate approval.

Among the confirmed appointees are Nentawe Yilwatda as the minister of humanitarian affairs and poverty alleviation, Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi as the minister of labour and employment, and Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu as the minister of state for foreign affairs.

Others include Yusuf Abdullahi Ata as the minister of state for housing and urban development, Idi Mukhtar Maiha as the minister of livestock development, Jumoke Oduwole as the minister of trade and investment, and Suwaiba Said Ahmad as the minister of state for education.

During their confirmation hearings, the ministers pledged to use their roles to advance the welfare of Nigerians. Yilwatda emphasized the importance of geospatial data to effectively reach the impoverished, while Dingyadi assured his readiness to engage with organized labor constructively. Odumegwu-Ojukwu expressed her commitment to improving the condition of Nigerian embassies abroad.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio praised the president’s choices, remarking that “Mr. President took his time in selecting these ministers.”
