Will a United Opposition Be Enough to Defeat Tinubu in 2027?

Abdulmumin Jibrin, a member of the House of Representatives representing Kiru/Bebeji Federal Constituency in Kano State, has expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu will secure re-election in the 2027 presidential election, regardless of the opposition’s strategy.

Jibrin argued that the opposition has weakened its chances by remaining fragmented instead of presenting a united front against the ruling party ahead of the next general election. According to him, the current political landscape poses no significant threat to Tinubu’s bid for a second term.

Speaking during an interview on an Arise Television programme monitored on Wednesday, Jibrin maintained that President Tinubu remains a formidable political force with a proven ability to navigate complex electoral contests.

He said the opposition’s internal divisions have significantly reduced its prospects, insisting that a scattered opposition cannot effectively challenge an incumbent president seeking re-election.

Jibrin further claimed that Tinubu’s political experience, strategic alliances and nationwide influence place him in a strong position ahead of the 2027 race. He added that even a united opposition coalition would struggle to unseat the president.

The lawmaker’s remarks come amid growing political discussions and realignments among opposition figures as preparations gradually begin for the 2027 general election.
