Toke Makinwa: I’m Open to Being a Fifth Wife If It Feels Right

Media personality Toke Makinwa has revealed that she is open to becoming a second, third, fourth, or even fifth wife — if the right opportunity presents itself.

Speaking on a recent episode of her podcast Toke Moments, the 40-year-old reflected on her evolving perspective on relationships, saying she’s more open-minded than she used to be.

“I won’t lie, at this point in my life, if I have the opportunity to marry as a 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th wife, I will think about it,” she said. “I’m the boss everywhere, and that can be tiring.”

Makinwa added that with age and experience, she has become more understanding of the choices others make — even those she once judged.

“There are certain things you would say, ‘this could never be me,’ but life humbles you. I understand now,” she shared.

Toke married her longtime partner, Maje Ayida, in 2014, but the marriage ended in 2017 following allegations of infidelity. Since then, she’s spoken openly about love, loss, and personal growth.

Reflecting on her current status as single and childless at 40, she admitted it once made her feel inadequate, but not anymore. She added that had she remarried earlier, it might have led to another divorce because, in her words, “the lessons never stop.”
